“On an imperfect world...” (April 14th) by Mylene

My friend, who I share our house with, was going to join an important meeting online. At this point, everyone is still trying to find their feet with doing everything remotely, which would usually have required our physical presence. Carefully staging the background of her laptop camera, she wanted to appear professional with our bookshelves in the background. She joined the meeting, and, looking into the camera, realised that a teddy bear featured prominently on the book shelve behind her, to everyone’s entertainment. Living with imperfection feels somehow refreshing and brings us closer together as authentic humans than would have otherwise been possible.
